The girl was sitting in the car, slightly tense, with a worried look. They were on their way to her boyfriend’s parents’ house. The first meeting. The first step into a life she still knew so little about. The road was covered in fog.
— I’ll stop for a minute to get some coffee, said the boy. — It’s a long way.
He stopped near a small kiosk at the roadside and got out of the car. The girl stayed inside, watching him disappear behind the door. Silence. 😱 😨 😱
Suddenly, someone knocked on the window. The girl jumped.
An old man stood beside the car. His eyes were deep, unusually calm. She slightly rolled down the window.
— You’re going to them, said the old man, not as a question, but as a statement.
She didn’t have time to answer.
The old man handed her a small spool wrapped in dark red thread.
— Read this before you go in.
— Who are you… murmured the girl.
But the old man was already walking away. The fog swallowed him as if he had never existed.
The girl opened the spool. She was terrified by it all; everything was mysterious. Here’s what she found inside. Read more in the first comment. 👇 👇 👇
Inside was a yellowed piece of paper.
“This family has never kept its daughters-in-law.
1903 — disappearance. 1927 — madness. 1954 — suicide. 1989 — unknown illness. And the last… has not yet been written.”
At the bottom of the paper:
“If you are reading this, they have already chosen you.”
The car door opened. The boy was back, holding two cups of coffee.
— You’re cold, aren’t you? he said with a smile.
The girl quickly folded the paper.
— No… it’s fine.
The car continued down the road.
Shortly after, the house appeared in the distance. The lights were on. The door opened, even though no one came out. The girl looked at the paper again. The last line had changed.
“2026 — she is already inside.”
She slowly raised her eyes. Someone was watching her from the window of the house. And in that gaze, there was recognition. Not that of a first meeting… but of a long-awaited one.
