Five years ago, my best friend died in a car accident, and I promised her that I would take care of her six-month-old daughter. But I began to notice, with horror, that every night at 2 a.m., she would whisper strange words in her sleep, in an unknown language. And when I discovered what those words meant, I was terrified. 😱 😨

Before she died, she had made me promise one thing: to raise her daughter as if she were my own. And I kept my promise. The years passed peacefully and happily. The little girl grew up by my side. She learned to walk, talk, and laugh. She called me “Mom” and trusted me completely.

But three nights ago, something strange happened. Around two in the morning, I was awakened by the sound of the baby monitor. The little girl was talking in her sleep. At first, I thought she was simply mumbling a few words.

But there was a rhythm to her voice… As if she were speaking actual sentences.

I quietly went into her room and gently woke her up.

— Did you have a bad dream? I asked her.

— No, Mom, she replied calmly.

I thought I had probably imagined the whole thing. But the following night, it happened again. And then again the night after that. Every time, exactly at two in the morning, she would start talking in her sleep. And when she woke up, she remembered nothing. So I decided to stay awake. I waited. And once again, at two in the morning…

She began to speak. But this time, I was ready. I took my phone and turned on an automatic translator. A few seconds later, the translation appeared on the screen. She was speaking… Icelandic. Perfectly. A cold shiver ran through my body when I read her words. To be continued in the first comment. 😨👇👇

She was saying: “My mommy is alive. Go up to the attic. She’s there.” 😨

I knew my friend had died five years ago. I had attended her funeral. I had seen all the official documents.

She couldn’t possibly be in my attic. But my heart was pounding so hard that I grabbed a flashlight anyway. I slowly climbed the stairs leading to the attic. Each step echoed in my ears. When I opened the door… I screamed.

The little girl was right. What I discovered in the attic forced me to call the police immediately.
