When I came home after giving birth, I knew things wouldn’t be easy. But I never imagined just how difficult that period would be.

Postpartum depression hit me hard. My body had completely changed, and the lack of sleep was so intense that some days remain a blur in my memory. Despite all of this, I was convinced that my husband and I had the same goals. I thought that, just like me, he wanted to take care of our newborn, protect our family, and try to keep our lives under control without losing our minds—or our jobs.

Or at least, that’s what I thought.

Weeks passed, and I started noticing that I would sometimes wake up in the middle of the night and find him gone. At first, I assumed he was simply in the bathroom or playing a video game because he couldn’t sleep due to stress.

But when it started happening too often, one night I picked up my phone and opened the baby monitor camera app.

I started watching the nighttime recordings from the first month after our child was born. What I saw was absolutely unbelievable.

Every night, almost at exactly the same time, around 2 a.m., my husband would enter the baby’s room carrying a paper bag.

Sometimes the bag was small, sometimes it was larger.

But every night, he did exactly the same thing. He would walk over to the crib, make sure the baby was okay, and then sit down on the floor.

My heart was racing as I watched the footage.

Then he opened the bag. When I saw what happened next, I was terrified. I absolutely never expected anything like this from him. đŸ˜Č Read the rest in the first comment 👇👇

When I saw what was inside, I was left speechless…

The bag contained little letters, photographs, baby drawings, and countless keepsakes that he had secretly collected since the first days of our child’s life.

Every night, he would sit beside the crib, look through the keepsakes one by one, and write a new letter to our child, describing what had happened that day, how he felt as a father, and how much he loved them.

He had even written about the nights when I was exhausted but kept taking care of the baby anyway, and about how proud he was of me.

Tears immediately filled my eyes.

Throughout those months, I had felt alone, broken, and ignored. But in reality, he was going through that difficult time in his own way too, trying to preserve every memory so that one day our child would know just how loved they had been from their very first breath.

The next morning, I admitted to him that I had seen the recordings.

He blushed, smiled, and confessed that he hadn’t wanted me to discover his secret until our child’s eighteenth birthday, when he planned to give them the entire collection.

At that moment, I realized that people sometimes show their love in ways we don’t even notice.

And for the first time in many long months, I truly felt safe.
