It was my first night at my new job. I had to spend the night in a morgue with the coffin maker. I pretended to be asleep, but in reality, I saw him quietly pulling a pair of scissors from under his mattress. Then we heard a knock at the door. 😱😨
If I managed to last three nights there, I would receive a large sum of money. At that moment, I realized this job was far more dangerous than I had imagined. But it was already too late to back out.
I watched with one eye, pretending to sleep. When there was a second knock, he got up quickly. Our room was separate from the one where the bodies were kept.

When I was sure he had left, I moved closer to the door. There, I saw him with a woman dressed in black. She was very calm, as if she had no fear at all.
She started saying she was late because of work. But her words didn’t sound sincere. It was obvious she had come for something else.
The man asked if she had brought a bag. She showed a large black bag. He took it and said he would go get what she had come for.
At that moment, he turned and started walking toward me. My legs began to shake. I realized something very dangerous was happening. A chill ran through my whole body.

I stood frozen, not knowing what to do. The man took the woman’s black bag and said he would get what she needed. He opened the door to the inner room of the morgue and disappeared.
I slowly moved closer to see what was happening. A few minutes later, he came back… but not empty-handed.
He was filling the bag with clothes. At first, I didn’t understand… then my heart froze. They were the clothes of the dead.
The woman calmly took the bag, looked inside, and nodded as if it were something completely normal. She showed no fear.
At that moment, I understood the truth. She had come to take the clothes from the bodies.
The man turned toward me… and realized I had seen everything. He stayed silent for a moment, then said quietly:

My heart was beating faster and faster.
